Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she quit high school and moved in Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles it was possible to secure her first big role in the online video series Rachel's Room as the lead character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich, in which she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost TV show in 2004. She was the main role for two seasons, and won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace, who had worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, was looking to go to film. She also starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. She also appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Gyllenhaal is a member of her family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko, a cult classic. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) that earned the actress Golden Globe Award nods. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However, it was her role in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent earned her nomination in an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). Some of her other roles are as an agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead role. Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller that won her the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
